Welcome to what could be your next home. The stately arched windows
came from the Public House downtown, preserving unique culture. The
solarium allows you a special vantage point from which to enjoy the
light, the view, and the parades and the energy that makes Port Townsend
Stepping onto this property is like a entering the Magic Gardens.
No details are missed. Mature plantings show the Master Gardeners
Just inside the foyer is a glass French door to the Media Room. In
the right corner is the viewer. You'll enjoy a good movie and be cozy
with the instant heat from the propane stove. The bar in the back
is ready for cabinets to be re-installed and fridge if you'd like
to transform this into a mother-in-law-apartment. Beyond the wall
behind the cabinet leads to the two bedrooms, a full bath, the utility
room, and access to the outside.
The formal entry is on the right, the Media Room is behind me. This
home is fantastic for visitors and family with an apartment below
completely separate from the living area and Master Suite above.
These windows came from the Public House Restauraunt downtown. The
current owners have thought this home out well for themselves and
now, possibly you! Let's go upstairs to the main living area.
Lookng towards the east you can have a view of the shipping lanes
and the incredible Cascade Mountain range
You'll love this space! Caringly built brick fireplace with a propane
insert. I should mention here that the seller has a severe allergy
to dust and dirt so the home was remodeled with that in mind. To the
far right is the extensive buil-tin bookcase with a ships ladder for
access. You can see the entry to the room from the foyer staircase.
This is one of the special spaces unique to the home. This solarium
room brings fabuloius passive solar heat into the home. Perched
up here, you also have a birds-eye view of our fantastic annual
Rhody Parade and year-round partial views of the shipping lane and
the Cascade Mountains. I have to tell you, the sunrises here are
to live for. Basically that would be straight out from the left
front corner of this room and like the sunsets, they blaze clear
across the sky. The bench and desks are removable as is the carpet
underneath. No outside shoes have been in this home.
Moving through the living room, we are in the dining and kitchen
area. There is a lot to this home. To my left are oversized vinyl
sliding doors to the side deck. They are also up front in the sunroom.
(Can't have too much glass allowing the light to come into our homes
in the Pacific Northwest even though we only have 17" of rain a
The soon-to-be-previous owners love this space. The butcher block
countertop surrounds the Thermadore propane cookstove and oven.
There's a separate convection wall oven a and microwave. What a
plethera of color and life! I'is like reaching to the sky with the
clerestory windows up above. The full dining area, able to seat
at least 10, is on my left. On my right is the Sub-Zero and pantry.
Beyond that is the utility room and the delightful work area for
your projects, which is nicely hidden from sight. There is also
a passage into here from the Master Suite for a late night snack.
Suite has a mirrored double closet plus a walk-in closet that is
literally floor to ceiling! This is at the end of the hall, left
at the top of the staircase. The powder room is visable across the
hall and there is yet another landing to the right of the Master
Suite entrance. The Master Bath is behind me.
The work done here really tells the story of the thought and love
put into this home. The vanity has double sinks which are two fabulous
pieces of art. Plenty of room to roam in here. Color abounds.
Back to the main level, the two bedrooms, full bath, and utility room
are accessed by either the front entry, then through the French doors
in the Media Room, or the back of the home through the gardens.
Tough to capture the breadth and width of this beautiful setting
but we'll start here. The top of the stairs wraps around to the
living room and the solarium. At the top there are benches and a
table to enjoy your lovely summer evenings looking out at your domain.
The large trees are actually deciduous Dawn Redwood. It shades you
through the summer and allows light through in the winter. The other
unique feature here is the storage under the stairs with access
on both sides of the stairway. The entry to the back of the main
level is just to the right of the bottom of the stairs.
Look at this enchanting space! All designed for private entertaining
or social. Love that artistic bench. The character and color is
priceless. The work that went into making this space both intimate
and functional was a joy for the owners to do. There are three chairs
and a firepit. See the farthest chair closest to the bench? There
is a colorful planting with an entrance leading to the ultimate
in private hot tub area! The gardens are full of color, mature and
vibrant. Even the fencework is unique. Cedar siding, freshly painted
surfaces, and metal roof so you can move in without the headache
This will call to those of you who are Master Gardeners. Color for
all seasons, well defined and designed. One last glimpse of the
magic of this home. It is an all around well-loved home and ready
to be shared with someone new. That could be you!
